I'm a taxpaying, law abiding citizen who objects to fascist cons listening in on my private conversations. Is there any way to protect myself?

Don't give them a reason? That's like telling a woman its her fault she gets assaulted because of her clothing choice.

Support one of the various civil liberties groups that have been fighting the illegal wiretapping of citizens that has been carried out by the Bush administration.

Recently, the Bush administration has conceded that it should be following the FISA law and obtaining warrants when wiretapping. FISA warrants are easy to obtain but it’s better than nothing. The problem is that without a definitive higher court ruling, Bush could change his mind again and resume illegal wiretapping, if he hasn’t already..

Our 4th Amendment protections are meaningless if we don’t defend them ourselves.

No there isn't, unfortunately, just look at smart guy(the first responder). He has so much faith in his government that he truly believes that his government doesn't want to show any secret courts evidence because they are not doing anything wrong...Even after the FBI has come out and said they need to stop monitoring PEACE GROUPS(like those nutty, terrorist Quakers). Or do i need to bring up our country under J Edgar Hoover...If you disagree with this administration in any way, you will most likely be tapped, welcome to 1984. Can't wait to see how they feel about no warrant wiretaps once a Democrat takes over, bet the tune will be a whole lot different...shortsighted Bush fools

Perhaps dont make calls outside of the US to Al Queda. Those are the only ones they are monitoring as they should.

Unfortunately no... the Antichrist has given them free reign to do what they please under the guise of Homeland Security.

So unless we can get a new Congress and president to change the laws again, I don't see it ending any time soon.

I believe "I Hate hippies" is being a little naive if he thinks they only tap terrorists phones and the people who call them. As I recall, several organizations got their hand slapped because they abusing the patriot act and wire tapping anyone they wanted whether they were suspected of terrorism or not.

Yes, stop electing neocons to political office at every level of government.

Yeah, go back to letter writing. If you think that those that are tapping calls care about your conversation unless you are giving them cause, you are quite conceited. Do you not understand that all political parties work in that field?

Do you really think you're that important to the world that somebody would even bother to tap your line?
All I know is that if someone's sitting out there listening to me, they're getting mighty bored.

Vote them out of office and convince others to do the same. In the meantime, use public telephones.
