I live in Indiana and I have a big problem with bugs eating of my pumpkins in my garden. Does anyone know of any natural or organic pesticides to use?

There are so many . All of them need to have soap added. This is to allows the mixture to stick to the leaves etc of the plant you are spraying.
1. Take a half a gallon of water and add some crushed chilli and a bulb of garlic, also crushed (and soap) and allow to stand for two to three days. Strain and spray your plants every two to three days and after any shower. ( Remember to spray after watering)
2.If you have marigolds (tagetes - not calendulas also known as pot marigolds) chop up the leaves and stalks and allow to soak for a couple of days. Spray as for garlic and chilli.

The following plants may be used in a similar way.
Yarrow (the pink or red one)
Rue
Lavender with chilli
Pyrethrum daisies
Happy gardening.

Try grinding hot peppers, add to a gallon of water with a little dish soap. Spray on plants and fruit after every rain. They will leave in short order with indigestion.

well i wouldn't use 7 dust. that can be harmful to you and your pets if inhaled. i would use either mustand in water in a spray bottle and add some picante peppers grounded up or try insecticidal soap. Insecticidal soap is sodium or potassium salts combined with fatty acids and itmust come in direct contact with the insect. It is no longer effective once it has dried.

Rotenone is the best one I can think of. You can go with some of the other stuff like diatomaceous earth, but they don't work as well.

Sevin is good for vegetable gardens too. It's not organic, but it is OK for use with edibles.
