Highest Building? Tallest Structure? Free standing or not?There is a difference.

The tallest BUILDING (the tallest skyscraper in the world) is Taipei 101, Taipei, Taiwan 2004 101 stories, 508 m, 1,667 ft.

The tallest STANDING STRUCTURE is the KVLY-TV mast near Fargo, North Dakota, at 628.8 m (2,063 ft). It is a transmission antenna, consisting of a bare metal structure supported by guy-wires.

FREE STANDING STRUCTURE - The CN Tower in Toronto, Ontario, stands at 553.3 m (1,815 ft)

The Petronas Twin Towers are the tallest TWIN TOWERS in the world and were at one time the tallest buildings until Taipei 101.
