They're too invested in our defeat. If we win, they were wrong because they were never in favor of the war. If we lose, they win because then they will look like they were right.

They don't. Anybody who cannot see this is all political is blind. Here is the plan, so take some notes: The Democrats developed this legislation to show their base that they are trying to end the war, even though they know that it had no chance of passing. Bush will end up getting the money for the war, and the war will continue into the election season. Public support for the war will continue to dwindle as it has over the past couple of years. The Dems will run in '08 on ending the war when they get into office. Democrats and a majority of independents, who don't have blind loyalty to the Republican party will vote the Democrats into the presidency in '08 due to public outrage over the war, which will be in year six by then, as they will not want to risk electing a Republican and continuing the war indefinitely. Pretty simple actually.

Oh geez. Seriously this whole "You hate the troops" and "Fascist nazi" back and forth is so f'n old and tired I think any good American feels like he/she might puke.

Maybe, just maybe both the right and left piss+moaners can mentally mature past the age of 5 years old and actually get something done right.

We should go in and fix and get out as quick as possible or leave Iraq to fix itself...not sit there for the next 3000 years like the right wing is planning on...we also should not be pulling troops and do nothing like the left wants.

Fear a win?? are you NUTS? Unless you classify a win as oil rights, there is no win possible.. How many more kids have to die for you to see that we are just throwing away pointlessly lives of our kids for the oil companies to make more profit..(hmmmmmmm Bush? (texas oilman) ) Come on join the real world and stop trying to make this a political statement... Oh and in case you are lacking the ability to watch the news, most republicans feel the same way. It's only the Conservatists pointing their fingers and slinging mud at the Dems, not the Republicans..

I hate it when people talk about "winning" in Iraq like its a game or something. Look, we destroyed their ability to make war, hung their leader, and occupied their capital. In war you don't get more of a "win" than that. Now we are trying to get them to run their own country again. War has ceased. We have to deal with an insurgency, not a war. The Democrats are simply doing what they think will get them votes. Our presence in Iraq is extremely unpopular with Americans right now and the Democrats are going to try to use that to win the White House.

We don't fear a win. We fear American troops being caught indefinitely in a war that cannot be won. Even with our soldiers present and doing the best they can under incredibly difficult circumstances, Iraq has fallen apart into civil war (I don't know if the Administration is calling it that or not.)

Democrats are do nothings so If Bush wins which by the way he has major offensive operation have been over for some time and a Government is set up over there. Of course you have your radical Iraqi's who want a Saddam like system they are the insurgents or terrorist.

Regardless of these facts if Bush is (& he was) right then they the emocrats are wrong.

But really it doesn't matter the left said Saddam had WMD and they supported the war b4 they were against it and funded it because they were against it.

They ar enever right because they claim both sides of the arguement always seeking to be right but their duplicity really means they are always wrong. It will take amircale to get the average democrat out of faiery land where they are always correct of course missing they are always wrong also.

I think being a democrat is a mental illiness.

Our present course of action in Iraq will NEVER work. If Bush was really serious about fighting the Islamic Extremists, he'd instigate the draft; build our troop numbers up to 300,000 or 400,000 men; use every weapon in our arsonals; and we can't be friends with those we are at war with.
Right now, we're sitting in a shooting (or bombing) gallery, letting our men get picked off one by one. Nothing shows betrayal by our government more that when they extend the troops service to avoid instigating the draft.
If we're at war, then let's be at war and fight to win.

So you're saying we are winning now??? That's laughable! According to George Bush some time ago, he said the war in Iraq was over. So basically we are in occupation status now. The only war going on right now, is between the shiites and the Sunni's and at this point has nothing to do with bringing democracy to the people. They've had it up to here with our democracy.

How many times do we need to tell you before you understand what we're saying?

Is English your first language? Get into an auto accident and cannot form any new memories?

We don't want our kids being killed for nothing. Iraq had nothing to do with the United States.

Terrorism has gone UP since the war started, not down. (that is fact, look it up)

Iraq is still in a civil war, the 3 religious factions are still killing each other, and they will continue to do so long after we're gone.

Only now over 3300 people have been killed for nothing.

This can't be that hard to comprehend.

Because that win cannot be seen in any plans presented by this administration and is, therefore, an unknown in a steady progression of dead sons and daughters.

The same criticism was leveled at our involvement in the Vietnam war when there were only a few thousand dead - that figure grew twenty-fold before President Ford decided """32 years ago""" that there was no 'win' to be seen anywhere in his future and he just died.
