You lose the right to moan about the state of your local area. You have the chance to have your say in who runs what. Your vote could make a difference. If you dont use it and things go downhill, you cant say anything. You had your chance to change things and you did nothing

Primary elections have poor turn-out. That is why all tax isues are placed on primary ballots.
They KNOW they can vote to put YOUR money and power in their OWN pockets because YOU won't show up to vote against the tax increases!
Don't vote! I'll get your money and power that way!

You lose your right to gripe about what happens.
If you don't vote, you can't complain about how things go because you didn't put in your opinion by voting.
