I think Bush has done some good things! I totally support him. I voted for him and am not ashamed to admit it. I think we need to stand behind him and let our troops know we support them and their efforts!

He's better than John Kerry.
But he has definitely made some big mistakes.
First I think he is listening to too many PC people when learning about Islam. He needs to actually read the Koran, and crack open a few history books that address the impact Islam has had on the world especially in regard to the first 100 years of the faith. When he better understands Islam he will better be able to deal with terrorism.

While it is good that the President has a heart for the problems of the people of Mexico, I don't think he has considered the impact of unchecked illegal immigration, and he seems to be totally ignoring the people who elected him on these matters.

Lastly as a communicator he stinks. He is letting the media stomp all over him. He needs to defend his actions instead of taking it for granted that everyone knows what the standard media is refusing to tell us.

Wow, an enlightened Republican. There is hope for your party after all.... however, the violent responses you are getting from your fellow Republicans seems to quickly extinguish that hope. But perhaps this is only internet Republicans - perhaps there is a sizeable minority of Republicans in the real world who also realize that Mr. Bush is a disaster to his Party.

Increasing the national debt by $3 trillion with much of it coming from increased defense spending of over $400 billion/year is a recipe for national disaster (a connection which the poster right above me fails to realize).

Good luck in finding your way.

I'm glad to hear a Republican say this! I'm a Democrat, but I have to say that the old school Republicans like Barry Goldwater weren't so bad. Unfortunately, though, it seems that the party has been invaded by religious zealots and the likes of Bush and Dan Quayle.

BTW, I know that Quayle is no longer in office, but I'm just using him as an example.

I am no longer a Republican. I left the GOP when it persecuted Clinton and went on the hateful DOMA rampage.

However, it is that spirit of persecution and hate that moved into the Republican party with the neo-conservatives and to which Bush has attached himself have made Bush the worst thing to happen to the Republicans.

Lets see: unchecked illegal immigration (with a wink from the lefties--plenty of profits to go 'round); China (if one cannot glean this implication then...); allowing Rumsfeld to handle the military like he was a plantation owner (won't even go into detail about the Marines and Navy Doc in the brig at Camp Pendleton because of Haditha).

Think my position is clear

Its true he has been a big spender along with the last congress, but as far as national security and the war on terror go, I think he has been terrific.

Perhaps in the future if youre going to slam Bush then you better have specific and good reasons instead of just thoughtlessly insulting the man.

I agree, he's turning a lot of people against the Republican Party.

It's time for third and fourth parties to make a stand

George Bush is the worst thing to happen to our government....it doesn't matter which party. I think at this point Democrats and Republicans can finally agree on something!

I would say the worst thing that happened to the Republican party was alienating the Teddy Roosevelt Republicans who ultimately joined with the Democrats.
The two parties practically flip-flopped when that happened.

Pretending to be of one party when posting is pretty disingenuous and lacks credibility...but I remember when the Democrats ran from Carter after the landslide in 1980...or when Reagan was the devil on earth and now history ranks him up as one of the greatest presidents...(and for the record I was young then and never voted for Reagan, but with age and a open mind you will learn)
