My favorite player of all time would be Boomer Esiason. First of all, the fact that he is 46 years old and looks as good as he does (complete with an athletic, slender body) would make most men in his age bracket who are out-of-shape, hairy and geeky etc, extremely jealous. I keep thinking that he would've been a successful Hollywood movie actor if he was never a star quartback turned media figure. (I could definitely see him playing a tough-as-nails policeman, or an attractive, sensitive widower looking for love.)

Esiason may not have won any Super Bowls throughout his career, and may not have a throwing arm or power like Brett Favre, Troy Aikman, Joe Montana, John Elway or Dan Marino, but it is his charitable work off the field that earns him my admiration. In 1993, his son Gunnar, now 16 years old, was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, and it inspired him to launch the Boomer Esiason Foundation. Since then, he has made more than $22 million to help fund for cystic fibrosis research, through selling various products like barbeque sauce, and through events such as golfing and fishing tournaments, and other sports events like an annual high-school football game. An experienced writer of football analysis, he has also used this talent to produce a Children's book ("A Boy Named Boomer") and a novel aimed at more mature readers ("Toss," which he wrote with a man named Lowell Cauffiel.) An aspiring novelist looking to get published, wanting to do a good deed, and looking for a charity to act as an agent (a splendid idea in my opinion) may want to look here. His charitable deeds earned him the Walter Payton Man of the Year award in 1995.

I'm sure people who know him would say that he is a Grade-A wonderful father, as his obviously close and affectionate relationship with Gunnar would be the envy of all fathers and sons in the world who aren't nearly as close and affectionate.

I am torn between two players. First Barry Sanders, who took a 3-13 team and made them a 9-7 team single handedly with his moves. He was a genious in the back field. But after Brett Favre's father died and he showed again what type of football player he was AGAIN (5 touchdowns) I have to throw him into the mix also. He is a master of the Quarterback position and he is so exciting to watch. With a good running back he will win another Superbowl.

Jerry Rice. He was a phenomenal player in the collegiate level breaking and making records and he held on to that momentum and greatness he had right into the National Football League. To be as great as he was in college and to do that in the League is a feat that not to many people can accomplish. He was and is the best Wide Receiver to ever play the game whether it came to running, catching, jump balls or even block he was the best.

(retired)
Bruce Smith - DE Buffalo Bills
Growing up watching: Howie Long, Mark Gastineau, Charles Mann and other great DEF players, I knew what I wanted to do. Once I saw Bruce Smith.... there was no doubt that I was going to play DE once I entered High School.

(playing now)
Dwight Freeney - DE Colts
Watching this guy play...simply amazing.

ladainian tomlinson. hes amazing, just watch what he does. he has a very good chance to set multiple records. he already has the TD title for a single season. in time he will be the NFL all-time leading rusher for a career. as for the single season rushing yds title, its between LT and LJ. the guy can run, catch, block, hes a triple threat. not to mention,he should have been a brown,if butch davis and the previosu regime wasnt so crappy at analyzing draft picks (tim couch ring a bell).he was amazing in college and hes even better in the pros.

I'd say The Fridge. William "The Refrigerator" Perry played for Chicago in the 80s. He was HUGE!! I loved to watch him play!
