...there too. I found these people to be polite and hard working. I was given a goose-neck hoe to chop weeds
out of a tomato patch about the size of Texas it seemed,
needles to say...I quit! However, these transit workers
jumped at the chance to get that job and the little tomato
plants lived to produce a bumper crop...Is this little story
a plus for migrant or transit workers ?

Amazing to see someone mention Muncie and also not mention Ball State or how horrible Muncie can be! Did you work for Red Gold by chance?

Anyway, the story says that migrant workers, for lack of a better wording, work. It is often the migrants or those who are here illegally who take the jobs that most Americans won't do and consider beneath them.

The story also brings into light how doing work like this is seen as menial. How anyone could possibly do a job like this and live on whatever meager wages (minimum wage or lower) they are given is a mystery to me. It shows spirit and determination.

I have never heard anyone say that migrant workers didn't know how to perform their job well. The whole problem is being here legally or illegally.

Not all migrant workers are illegal immigrants. Some have valid work visas.
