Great question.... Star!!
Well, glass is half full is really half-sighted... and to that extent it is not far sighted for sure. Optism is necessary to generate action, but like too much of everything, overoptism is harmful since it can kill care and initiative.

I think this can be well-argued either way. I'll have to go with near-sighted, however. Seeing the glass as half full provides an immediate optimism, but for long-term planning it's smart to imagine the worst-case scenario and guard against it.
I like the question. Cheers!

Some would be grateful for anything in the glass and would not look a gift horse in the mouth. Many have survived with less.
Half full, half empty... does it realy matter? Are we not just playing with words?

To me, niether. A half a glass is both good and bad. It's a resource that is good to have, important to save, and nice to be able to use when thirsty. However, it is only half a glass, and therefore not as useful or satisfying as a full glass, and may serve only to 'whet my whistle' and leave me thirsty for more.
It is niether and both optimistic and pessimistic, or it may just be a half glass.

Optical illusion. Half full glass appears to be a larger filled area with nearsighted vision. Farsighted vision gives a visual perception of the filled area as a smaller portion. Did the experiment myself with one nearsighted eye and one farsighted one. Surprising, Huh????

It depends on which half. As long as stick with the top half you're going to be right. Even if you turn it over, you'll find the bottom half is empty.
