I have now learned, to the detriment of my lovely tulips, that they apparently have a love of tulip bulbs. And to think I was so excited to have a fenced in area to plant them in - deer free! Anyway, I have a ton more bulbs I plan on planting back there but I'm worried they are going to eat the others. Which other bulbs are they a problem with? I suppose I will probably use the bulb dip on those ones. Thanks!

Tulips are their favorites, but I can say from experience that they (or voles) will also eat crocus, hyacinths, gladiolas, and calla lilies. The only bulbs I have that they don't touch are asiatic lilies, daffodils, wood hyacinths, and something else I can't recall the name of, blooms real early, dangling tulip shaped flowers, sort of a purplish checkerboard pattern.

If they are hungry they will eat. There is a product called dried blood that you can spread around your flower bed. It comes in a powder like form. It makes the animals think that something has died in the area and hence they stay away. I don't believe that there is an odor or anything you need to worry about. You should be able to find it at your garden centers.

all!! the best way to keep those little buggers away is by spreading "dry blood" around the area. You can purchase it at any gardening store homedepot, lowes etc (its not what you may think it is :-) it's a type of soil - they should give it a better name, but, it works)
