I see you heard Ben Steins segment on NPR this morning. I agree with him. It has been an unfortunate truth that the poor fight our wars for us and the rich stay home and get richer for it. IF not a draft ,then we should definatley have another tax on our paychecks called a war tax. That way everyone can see the cost of the war as it relates to them and we would avoid all this deficit spending in the process. So you say you support the war? Fine, put your money where your mouth is.

Actually, all young men are registered for the draft. Don't believe me? You sign up when you get a driver's license. Check it out. The draft is alive and well. We just havn't used it in years. As far as Bush is concerned, if he ever gets illegal alien legislation passed, expect all members of the military to learn spanish because this will be the "new" draft. Serve 3 years and get citizenship. They do it this way now for Puerto Rican residents.

We are making sacrifices:
Millionaires are suffering under the burden of having to manage exhorbitant amounts of new money coming their way from tax cuts designed specifically for them and from profits made by the military suppliers to the war in which they invest/own.
Workers are having to work overtime making all the supplies going over to Iraq.
Families are having to shed tears over the loss of their children in this war.
The rest of us have to withstand the tendency to go insane trying to figure out the contradictory logic of the people running this war.
If we had a draft, then the people having to make all that money might have fewer people left in their families to spend it on or give to when they die of old age and would thereby have less of an incentive to support it whole heartedly - and, then, yes, it would probably end.

Then people would stop watching American Idol and football. The government does not want people that involved in their decisions. A draft and shortages! People would question the war, budget spending ect. Washington does not want that.

You got it, good job. The war against Al Qaeda is a war against people who resist the evil nature of globalization, Americas real fight is ignored, it is here in America, it is here in America we need to fight aliens and cast out those not us, it is here in America we need to wrestle a unity of the people and set straight and upright our brotherhood from man to man, woman to woman, house and hood to our LeaderHead, One who does not need an army of protection to be among the people because such a man would be one of works good to unite the bonds of us Americans.

We are asked to make sacrifices, our young men and women in the military who have died or been severely injured.

I think high taxes, skyrocketing gas prices and sending our sons, daughters, fathers and mothers into the meat grinder is plenty sacrificial. As for the draft, just be thankful we don't have one now. IMPEACH THE PRESIDENT!!!!!!
