Software wont do it for you, the ports are internal, meaning they cannot be changed. You would have to take it to a computer shop and have to upgrade it for you.

Sorry, but those are different HARDWARES, not different software. You can not upgrade to USB 2.0 with software.
If you are using a desktop, you can purchase a USB internal card (around $30-50) that will usually add four ports to the PC. If you are using a laptop, they make USB 2.0 cards for the PC card slot found on most laptops. It usually only adds one USB port, so you may need a USB hub to give you additional ports.

USB 1 can't be upgraded to USB 2.0. Its the hardware itself which is ver 1 or 2.0. No software drivers can upgrade them.

I just went through this a couple of weeks ago. YOu don't upgrade it by software. You need new hardware. You're going to have to buy a 2.0 port and install it on your computer. They are extremely cheap, though, only about $20.

If the hardware is a v1.0, then it always remains a 1.0
If you want to upgrade it, you'll need a new USB PC card.
