From Leedsunited.org and I agree with every word.
Peter Ridsdale has once again bleated that Leeds' relegation is nothing to do with him. After all: "What I do know
is that when I left Leeds four years ago they had Paul Robinson, Harry Kewell, Mark Viduka and Alan Smith, among others.
That team should never have been relegated, never mind finding themselves in the plight they are now."
Yes Peter, but by then all the players knew that the finances were screwed, you'd kicked out a manager
and replaced him with a man that the High Court found to be a liar and of dubious character, made promises to the
fans that certain players wouldn't be sold - and then sold them, and finally passed the club into the hands of an
underfunded and inept bunch of "businessmen" who sold off anything that you'd failed to mortgage before realising
they didn't have a clue and bailing out themselves. Ridsdale added: "Until people there concentrate on the future I
don't think they have got a chance of coming back." And maybe if they didn't have to focus so much on past
problems -
like paying players signed on enormous contracts under your regime two years after they've left the club then maybe they would have been able to do that. The man is a moron and I'm amazed that he's trusted with enough money to go to the shops to get a bag of chips never mind running a football club.

I heard a story that when Seth Johnson (God he was awful) went to sign for Leeds he was on 5k per week at Derby. His agent told him Leeds were offering him 13k - and he was thrilled. When they went to discuss the contract, it turned out the agent had misheard Ridsdale - it was 30k, not 13. This is an anecdote that typifies the mistakes made. Since then it's been downhill all the way. Too many overpaid players and budgets based on annual involvement in the Champs League.
It's amazing Ridsdale blames O'Leary - what manager wouldn't ask if he could sign more players. Ridsdale hadn't got the cajones to say "NO" cos he wanted the adulation. The man lived his dream - and let's be honest we all got sucked in, but he walked away. Alas as a fan we don't have that luxury.
I was there on Saturday and so proud of the way the fans (apart from the 200 or so pissheads) behaved. I didn't hear one word of abuse for the team and the support during the game was magnificent. League 1 or not - I'm Leeds and I'd rather be.

I find it really, really, really, astonishing that a massive club like Leeds can take such a dramatic fall from grace.
Despite people defending him...I still believe that Peter Ridsdale is to blame. His terrible financial management + the selling of key players...Mark Viduka, Robbie Keane, Harry Kewell etc has cost them dearly.
Worst of all...sacking David O'Leary was insane!!!! Especially the season after he got them to a Champions league semi-final!
Lastly I would also blame it on the 'thug' culture prevelant at Leeds...Remember the time when Lee Bowyer and Jonathan Woodgate were done for assault...don't tell me that didn't unsettle the team spirit in some way!

I believe that it all started when we gambled all of out money on reaching the Champions League. Once we didn't qualify that was it. It didn't help this season when we brought in Dennis Wise for Kevin Blackwell. Just as the team I thought was playing well. Also the Colchester game where we should of won. But anyways I expect Leeds to bounce back and hopefully get promoted next season.

It went wrong financially, from the very begining money was the problem, they lacked the funds to keep good players and to buy them as well, maybe they've had some bad managers or bad players but we can't put the blame on them especially Dennis Wise, don't get me wrong, Im not exactly his fan, but the point is, no matter how good he was, its not enough to turn the whole club around, after all a man can only do so much.

i think of Leeds could have struggled whether or not they have been given the deduction of things or not. existence in league one isn't undemanding.i'm not saying Leeds are a bad team, even with the undeniable fact that that's going to be a subculture ask your self for them with the version interior the styles of play.( basically ask any Notts.woodland fan.) ignore playing in stadiums with bowling green form playing surfaces, suited for knocking the ball around. you're actually confronted with communities who play homestead video games on pitches that resemble 'the aftermath of Glastonbury.' and don't purchase a Bournemouth season value tag. speaking approximately leaping out of the frying pan and into the hearth !!!!!!!!! i for my area think of you have executed nicely in case you end around Mid-table. Sorry for the Doom and Gloom. ultimate needs from the beach. ( for whoever you help this season) Dave.
