There really is no real gyroball, the gyroball is just a very funky changeup that Dice-K throws

From my understanding the ball should have the same spin or look the same as a curve or slider to the hitter.
Because the pitch is not thrown from the palm of the hand (reverse, downward spin) but with the movement of a football or bullet (on its side) it does not break (less resistance) and appears to rise when compared to a fastball.
EDIT:
One other aspect of the Gyroball is that if you colored a baseball a different color on each side and you threw the Gyro perfectly, you should only be able to see one color coming at you. (Just like a football should not "wobble" when thrown correctly, and Gyro should not "woble" at all but just have one side of the baseball face the batter)

the gyro ball is a ball thrown with the same rotation of a bullet. It is a wild pitch that has the same movement as a slider and a change up. Some people don't think there is such a pitch and that all that dice-k is throwing is a slider that breaks hard.

In order to throw this magical gyroball, you need to go to japan, eat a lot of fried rice, become a lover of buddah, and then you can throw it.

its supposed to be thrown sort of like a fastball same grip and same arm delivery but like a a knuckle-curveball it requires a very difficult flip of the hand your hand showed twist right when your about to throw it after that your the palm of your hand mostly the thumb should be pointing towards third base if you are a right handed pitcher first if your a lefty.

You spread your sweet man butter on the ball and throw one hell of a curve ball. The man butter will act with the natural motion of the curve and create a gyro ball.
