Thanks for all the answers so far. It's for the Scout Association so I won't get an educational discout, and if I was to order things through the school catalogue I wouldn't get them in time unfortunately as I need them for the end of May. All suggestions are much appreciated though!

Your best bet ebay seeing I don't know what local retailers sell in Scotland.

Berol sell education supplies direct at special prices. Telephone 01273 513233 and ask for the education catalogue. They will want proof you are an educational facility. You have to buy in pack quantities but you can get poster paint (Berol Ready Mixed) in a pack of 10 500ml bottles assorted colours ref. RMA1
They also do Colour Tubs which are semi-moist blocks of poster colour you lift with a wet brush. These go a lot further and take up less space. You can buy 1 pack 12 assorted ref. CTA
They don't stock paper & card. Try ringing craft shops and your local printer and ask for a quote. You can usually get a much better price on a bulk order..

study this website, covers a large form of distinctive Crafts all with loose downloads. for sure you will need some components to bypass with them yet which may be very low value particularly whilst it includes the a number of papers crafts (origami and 3-D paper sculpture particularly)

Do you have pound shops near?
You may find part of what you need in the 'cheap' shops, especially if they have a craft department.
Supermarkets sometimes have some special offers that might help too.

I have just helped to set up a Rainbow club, and we get most of our craft stuff from Yellow moon. I have not had chance to enquire yet, but I am told guides get discount so you should to. They do priority shipping for a little more as well.

You might try the Oriental Trading Company. They are an online company with pretty good prices and you can order express shipping. My mom orders from them all the time for her church and she is always looking for a good deal.

Hobby Craft or perhaps ebay? How about asking the local school who their supplier is and see if they will sell direct to you - or perhaps you can buy from the school?

Hobbycraft is expensive - if you have time it may be worth writing to big stationers eg WHSmith and asking for donations if it's for a good cause.
