My mp3 plays music but I can't hear through left ear (there's nothing wrong with the earphones, I'll tested them). I'm planning on getting an iPod Nano. My friend has once and has advised me against it, saying the battery life for an iPod is really bad. I love my music too much, so a new mp3 or iPod would be ideal. Any suggestions? Is spend £££ on a new iPod worth it?

Also, I've heard that with any new iPod, you can only install the iPod version online and they don't give discs anymore. I don't have internet at home. Will this be a problem if I get an iPod?

ipods do have a short battery life, but they have games, album art, and full color graphics. the interface is pretty whacked too. I still have my first Mp3 player, a Creative Zen Micro since 2005. Its been nothing but great to me, the interface and adding music. I don't know if they have than in Europe, but if they do, it's worth your time. If all your into is music, the nano is not what your looking for. My girlfriend has one and she doesn't like it. I wish you luck. ^_^ Tim

The ipod nano has a feature on it where you can control the brightness of your screen. So if you turn the brightness down then your nano will last longer. So i would go with a nano and maybe get a car charger for on the go or, they have little battery packs that you can buy and plug in to your ipod that will give it more life. So i would go with the nano

No.
A) You cannot fit a new battery when the old one runs out.
B) You will have to re-buy all your MP3 tunes in IPod format.
C) It's a lot more expensive, and mainly sells on it's "coolness".
Don't be a fashion victim - compare all it's features along with other MP3s, and ask yourself exactly what you want your player to do. Just as if you were buying a TV or a phone.

Yes the battery life on an ipod nano is ok as long as you use the the menu's too much. Create playlists to avoid doing this and you should be fine.

the best advice anyone can give you is to go on amazon dot com/ dot co dot uk, which ever applies, type in "mp3 player" and whatever capacity you want- 1GB- 80GB, then get clicking. its excellent because people who have them write reviews and tell you the good and bad points or if its just a waste of money. i cant remember which plaer it was but a load of people swore that a certain (cheaper player) was muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch better than the iPod theyd all once had. and! you can get most things cheaper on there.
rock on. enjoy.

You cant go wrong with an iPod, I luv mine, nano's are good, but if you can afford it buy an iPod video, worth every penny. Plus if you buy from Apple direct they even engrave the item for you free of charge.

Don't worry - the iPod wont last any longer than the mp3 player before packing up.
They are all disposable items, designed to be thrown away and replaced every few months...

ya, i have and ipod and i love it, but don't get the 8gb one. If you spend just 50 bucks more you can get a 30gb ipod video and those are even cooler
