DO NOT do what the guy above me said!!! IT is wrong!!!!! You install the card first and then install the software. When WIndows comes up and it finds the card, simply cancel out of all the prompts - Then install the software that came with the card.

Install the software driver FIRST. Then shutdown the PC and install the soundcard (hardware), usually a PCI device that plugs in to one of those white slots. Power up the PC. Windows will recognize the new hardware and either activate it automatically or guide you on the process of activating it.
