- In my own idea, I advice you to turn it off when your not using it. According to my instructor it doesn't affect the performance of the computer if you always shutdown the computer. One thing more is you can save more energy and it will be great help to your family.

- For the standby mode or hibernate mode, my instructor also said that there is no difference compared to when it was in use. It is just an additional feature to the computer. It is usefull to the older model of computer since the graphic design of the monitor is not quite good, so if you will not let the computer on a standby mode is it will left a mark on the screen because of the radiation. But if your using a new model of monitors like LG, AOC, GIANT and other new release , you do not need to use the standby mode because they are already built in with an advance graphic design.

- If I'm on your case, when I will just left my compuer for a moment then I will just use an Screen Saver because it will help to blend the color structure of the monitor. It can also a little energy. But still the best way to save energy is to shut down the computer. Hope this will be a great help to you. :-)

I would recommend you turn it off. Don't use hibernate and stand by modes because your PC could be infected by spyware or something else.

If using Windows, turn it off. It will reduce your chances of malware infections.

Stay away from Standby and Hibernate, your PC can be infected even in these modes.

I use in this case Hibernate. The programs you use will open automatically when you turn on your computer. I wouldn't advise you to leave it on all the times. During your sleep or when your not at home... accidents could happen...
