Here's the cycle my convicts went under.
Eggs laid to hatching - 1 week.
Hatched fish to finish yolk sacs & start eating powdered food - 3.5 - 4 days.
After about 2-3 weeks, the parents would lead them to the surface to get food.
Ready to take away from parents - 4 to 6 weeks. If you have a lot of space, the parents will keep them around & pal around with them. If you're short on space, the parents will kick their freeloading butts out.
