Do what Native Americans used to do. Break out the peace pipe and get them both stoned. Just make sure there are plenty of munchies and drinks to keep them from fighting over who is going to the store.

I will tell you a story what happened to me, maybe it will answer your question.

I knew two people ( we will call the first one Jane, and the second one Jill) who were not talking to each other because one felt that the other one insulted her, and they got into an argument. I felt badly as they really both are good people.
I let time go by, so that each one would cool off, and not be hot headed.

Then I went to Jane, and told her that Jill really feels badly, and is sorry about the whole thing. After that I went to Jill, and told her the same thing, that Jane feels badly about the whole thing.

Well the next time they saw each other they both apologized to one another. They both thought that each one was sorry.

So I hope this will help you. But you have to be creative, as every situation is different, and I do not know the circumstances of the 2 people that you are referring to. One thing I do know. If there is a will, then there is a way most of the time. But we can't win them all. All you can do is try.

Good luck, there is so much hate in this world, if you can make a difference then go to it.

First get them to behave in a civilized manner by finding things they have in common; hobbies, interests, something they've both done in the past etc. but it has to be a personal thing (meaning not a person--that might get them to stop bickering but it won't actually change how they feel).

Once they've established some common ground, you have to find out exactly WHY they hate each other and work it out.
If it's something like: "I hate how he stands" it can be remedied, but something like "His name, his voice, his personality(which aspect?)" might be impossible or improbable to change.

A lot of the time what we hate in people is just a matter of perception. Often, that image of them is wrong. Fix the misconceptions they have of each other and see how they feel then.
If that doesn't work, you'll have to leave it alone lest they start hating you too.

If they HATE eachother, they will never be friends...If they DISLIKE eachother then they might become friends in the future, you cannot make people like eachother. Maybe if you are the go-between just mention that one has been asking about the other or something. That may get the ball rolling as they say.

Best guess would be to have them stop hating each other, easier said then done. But while they still hate each other you ain't going anywhere.

Find out why they hate each other and start workin' on it.

Strand them on a deserted island for a couple weeks.

Seriously, that's a tough question because some people will never get along and pushing them to do so will only turn them against you.

Sorry this isn't going to happen. Not a good Idea. People don't like each other for reasons. almost nothing or nobody can change that opinion.

Sorry, leave well enough alone.......... you could inadvertently make things worse

Talking - usually going for a drink is a good ice-breaker. If alcohol and taking can't fix it, nothing can.

"When summer comes is summer far behind" ? ( By Keats)
"familiarity leads to contempt" proverb ( here you take the reverse of it i.e contempt & hatred would lead to familiarity / friendship.) Do nothing simply watch them both and as time goes by they will certainly become friends.
