My friend wants to give me 1 Gig of RAM. I need DDR 400 ram and he says he has DDR 1 400 ram..is this the same thing? Thanks in advance.

Yes. He's just pointing out that it isn't DDR2, which wouldnt fit in your slots.

Not recommended however i have done it. Just make sure that they are ALL DDR-400 PC3200 ram sticks

yes DDR and DDR1 r same thing jst people say in diffrent way

yup ddr 400 is ddr1 it's ddr-3200

ABSOLUTELY! If you see PC3200 markings, that also refers to ddr400.
