Hi,

"Tracking Cookies" are cookies that set in your computer and track your web movements. These are then sent via the internet to online ad-companies that will use this information to launch targeted ads.

Removing these cookies doesn't necessarily mean that you won't be targeted. There are several small programs generally termed "spyware" or "adware" which can reside on various locations in yoru computer and send personal information / help in targeted ads.

You can get rid off all these pieces of software (combinedly termed malware) by using free progams such as Ad Aware SE Personal and Spybot Search and Destroy. You can download them from www.download.com.

Hope this helped.

No it doesn't stop that - all it does is prevents them from seeing you have been to their site before. To prevent all kinds of adware and spyware you need specific programmes like adaware personal or spybot search and destroy or even microsoft defender - all of these are free :-)

you should delete your cookies periodically and have a pop-ups blocker. i use firefox with popup blocker included so i never had any additional toolbars. however if you see pop-ups, the biggest possibility is that you have adware. and if you suspect you can be infected with this threat, run antispyware. i use spyware doctor: http://www.2-spyware.com/review-spyware-doctor.html

What you should do is get yourself a popup blocker.
Also get an anti-virus program such as AVG Free found at http://www.free.grisoft.com
and a spyware program such as spybot search and destroy. found at http://www.spybot.com
Both are good and both are free

No, it just frees up hard disk space.

When you gave advertisers your Email address, you opened the SPAM floodgates.
