Hi Shell,
You only live once and to be unhappy is not good. If you have a dream of being in public services and to become either a prison officer or community police officer go for that. You may lose an amount of money but thats nothing compared to your happiness and things may be abit hard at first but you will find things sort themself out in the long run. Best of luck .

It is your choice honey. Only you know if the financial sacrafices are worth it in the long term and whether you will stick to the course. If you're asking on here, you probably aren't comitted enough to make the grade just yet. Maybe you should wait until you are sure of what you want to do? Good luck with whatever you decide x

i went to law school part time and worked full time. It was hard work doing both obviously but it meant i didnt have to stop earning while i bettered myself.
and mudfish is right... trust me, if you DONT go you will always wonder if you missed an opportunity. Go for it!
AND DONT DROP OUT - dont quit just cos it gets a bit tough!! If you start something, always see it through to the end - the struggle is all part of your development.
Good luck!

I had the same problem until i did my door supervisors badge - so i am hoping to start college in sept and will still be able to work at night on the door.
I want to be a midwife.
The girl that used to work on the door went into the police she said it really helped.
Good Luck

This is an important decision to make about your future. Maybe you should start with a class or two and go part time. See is that is what you really want to do. Look to see about financial aid or scholarships available to help pay for it. If you are serious, then go for it.

It seems that you are still struggling with decision making but have not found it within yourself to take the plunge.
I knew a girl who worked from 8am till 6pm 5 days a week as Quality Manager in a top engineering company of UK.
Whilst doing her job, one day she came across the word 'vegetate' and figured out that that is exactly her state of being... she was vegetating away without doing anything about what she had always wanted to do... study for herself.
So one fine day she saw some ads of The Open University which allowed her to study at her own and space. Lo and behold, she had completed her Certificate in Management within a year.
Next step was to do Diploma in Management which she applied for. Unfortunately, she ran out of money and luck at the same time. Her employer also took away her company car so travelling to study centres in different cities also became a challenge. She shared her plight with the University, who amazingly waived her tuition fee and her fellow students would merrily offer her a lift for the evening and day study schools; no matter how far the town since they were travelling to the venue as well.
Then she saw an ad in the local paper for evening courses allowing her to start her Bachelor's degree in Economics at University of Warwick. She added French as an additional language to her degree. She was happy. She was about to learn her fourth language. Life became even more tough as her twice weekly classes did not finish till 9.30pm and there were no fellow class mates to give her a lift home. She would have to catch 2 buses to reach home by 11.30pm; and that too in terribly chilly and freezing cold winter nights. Surprisingly, so determined was she at that time that she never noticed anything. She simply plunged head on and kept working away at both her office 10 hours a day job as well as studying at night.
She finished her BA (Hons) with a 2:1.
The girl was not quite satisfied yet, and she went ahead to enroll for the MBA programme. The only change was that she quit her job as she felt the MBA to be far more demanding and felt that to do justice to her course and to the quality of her in general, she would be better off by just focussing on the course work and live carefully off her savings. She set her weekly expenditure at £30.00 (year 2000 & 2001) and her university waived off her room rent on campus halls.
Whilst during the final semester of her MBA, she applied and got selected by one of the blue-chip companies during the milk round.
Had that thin unassuming girl just sat there and not had the courage to take that plunge, perhaps she would not have achieved half as much as she has till now.
That girl is writing this note... hoping to give you that final push to make up your mind.
Remember, you can be robbed of anything in life, but for your education and wisdom.
All the best.
