I presently stay in NY having green card. My birth place is Bangladesh. I am a graduate but I feel my education is not up to the mark for getting a good job in USA. Yesterday I faced an interview at Barolo Restaurent & get a job. The will offer me $3/ hour & have to work at lest 8 hours a day. My asking is that if I work there as a server, will I get trips/gift from the customers. If get, how much I will get including my 8 hours works. Please advice.

You will make $120.00 a week less taxes for a 5 day work week , 8 hours per day. Your tips will range from 10%-30% of the total bill before taxes (usually 20%). The amount of tips will depend on how good the service is, how nicely you treat the customer, whether the customer tends to be a generous tipper or miserly. and how busy the restaurant is.

I guess you will get tips. However, that'll depend a lot on how much you satisfy the customers.
