think about prom just before you bite them.

Gee I have tried so many things...
The most effective so far has been thinking of the damage it's doing to my teeth, thinking of the dirt underneath my nails and how foul it is to chew them, where my hands have been and how important it is to wash your hands before eating food.
Also carrying a nail file around really helps as you file any snags rather than chewing them.
Finally making an effort to not even fiddle with my nails with my hands... then i don't get tempted to pick at them.
I can do about a month without biting but it's hell hard you have to make a concious effort to not put your hands even near your mouth. Trying cutting your nails to keep them short too... although you don't have long you will still have longer nails than if you bite them.

you could't in any respect end her. My mom develop into 60 at the same time as she finally stopped biting her nails. I not in any respect were given the habit tho. it will be genetic. The official answer is "distraction." So i'd say hug her and make a lovey huggy recreation out of it. Get something tremendous interesting like a e book out. Crafts perchance? i imagine perfection performs a position. A snag right here and there? coloration contained in the lines fairly. follow basic mazes perchance. purchase stitching playing cards. paste issues and make photo frames. study craft recommendations on-line. children this age pick to sprinkle glitter too. Make attractive issues.

It could be pica - eating non-nutritive things like nails, ice cubes, dirt, etc. Pregnant women often get cravings to eat things like powdered laundry starch.

You could have low iron or vitamin B12 levels. If you want to be on the safe side, before you take iron to see if it helps (too much iron can cause more harm than good), you could be tested by your doctor. B12, on the other hand, is water-soluble (whatever your body doesn't use comes out in your urine), so I think it's safe to take. Sub-lingual (under the tongue) B12 is best because it's absorbed better that way than if it's ingested.

I have that problem too.Try putting nail polish on normally I don't bite them then because the ships of paint in your mouth is just gross.Or put pepper under your nails,or some type of bitter taste like that under them.

Try something like this:

It has dual benefits, as it heals your nails but tastes terrible.

Have a good prom!

Hope this helps!
