To correct kellie, no, your milk hasn't dried up, and patron was wrong in saying your milk goes sour! (god knows where he got that from) It's just lying dormant, with want for a better word. You can try and pick up breastfeeding again, but you're going to have to be really vigilant! Try a course of motilium (domperidone) and express/breastfeed 3-4 hourly if not more often. Your breasts can produce milk for up to a few years after baby is born, as long as you keep stimulating the breasts to produce it. My latest addition got croup at 11 months and after exclusively breastfeeding since birth, just didn't want to know about it. Once he was better, I tried to boob thing again. It took about 2-3 months of expressing, and offering the breast often, but at 22 months he's taking a boob in the morning and last thing at night. Perseverance, love. Best of luck!

I'm not a mother but I am a DAD from what you are saying it sounds like your milk is no longer fluent if that is so make sure to go and have a chat with your Dr. ask him the same question because maybe your hormones are not reproducing the milk and if you force yourself to pouring more milk the milk may be sour or not with enough nutrition to your baby so pretty much just check with the Dr.

go to your Dr. or clinic. they can give you a hormone to help you bring your milk back. (Without this Im not sure)
After you had a child you can use it at any time, a lot of people use it when they are adopting a baby and would like to breastfeed.

I agree with Mum/nanny, your milk should come back fairly easy I would think, but you will have to be diligent and committed to it. And yes, some women who have never had a child can breast feed an adopted infant. Your body will remember what to do. Good luck!

I think that chances of your getting milk back is slim. The milk must have dried. But you can consult your physician about this. No harm in giving you baby formula.

no, your milk will have dried out completley now, and even if it hadnt, after all this time the chances are your child would reject your breast now that he has taken to the bottle. when you have stopped breastfeeding for around a week or so, your milk is diminishing fast so 2 months on , you have no chance.

I think babies can breast feed for yesrs and breastfeeding is like a ancedote to block pregnancy. Anywho, now that u have stopped breastfeeding I think your milk is dry. get on the formula, ask your babys physician about this first.
