many people percieve this one on different ways, so you see it how you want to. It is another superstition, going back hundreds of years. Many people saw them as Witches familiars, and believed bad luck would follow them. I have had many a black cat crossing my path, but my destiny is what is it meant to be. If i have a run of bad or good luck, i do not say it is because of the "black cat" syndrome. It is only what you want to beleive yourself.

Supposed to be good luck, just as long as you don't trip over it and the cat runs scared straight into the road!

neither good or bad. it's just a cat ...an animal with a soul that can get sick and can die anytime from anything. if it was true that black cats brings luck ( good or bad ) then first of all it should bring the *GOOD luck* for itself before giving it to anyone else ....and that is to live forever.

It depends on where you are from. In the US, it si considered bad luck (but I thik the direction has something to do with it as well) but in some Eurpoean counrties it is good luck. And... in many others it doesn't mean anything at all, so I guess you can have it mean whatever you want it to.

These are called omens. There are so many which are considered bad for starting any work.

When the Crow start shouting at your home, you are expected to have guests at your home.

When the Cat crosses your road your are likely to face frustration in whatever work you are going.

When Dogs start yelling some bad news is expected.

When you get hiccups, some one is badly remembering you.

These omens have come to us from generations and when they reached us it must be having some substance. If it is not going to harm us why not believe in it. It is so simple.

Bad Luck. You should cross the Black cat's path till someone else has crossed it.

Thus Said. This is a superstition. :)
