Yes. I'm a huge Trekkie and have never had any problems getting into any of the other series (I even love the animated one), but I never could get into Enterprise. I'll still watch an episode from time to time if there's nothing else on, but I've only seen an handful of complete episodes. I'm just not interested in the characters or what happens to them.
I'm not sure why I don't like it actually. Perhaps it is cause it goes into the past and revisits stuff that has already been well established in the 5 other series (including the animated one) and 10 movies. Maybe it's because it is the opposite Gene's idea of looking towards the future. Or maybe it's the acting - The Vulcan shows more emotion than Archer. The fact that I can't get into the characters may also indicate that, for me at least, perhaps the writing for the show was lacking somehow, but again I can't put my finger on why. Whatever the reason, it remains the only Star Trek series that I don't like.
Someone else posted that they thought the fans needed a break from the franchise... I can't speak for all fans of course, but for myself, I could never tire of the franchise. And if they had continued with interesting stories, I would have continued to watch it religiously. I think if the show had gone ahead with the timeline instead of going backwards, and if they would have got some new producers, the last Star Trek series wouldn't have been cancelled so fast.

A long time fan of Star Trek here. The first season was OK. I thought Scott Bakula, Connor Trinneer, and Dominic Keating were great, and Jolene Blalock a feast for the eyes. However, The continuing story of a romance between Archer and tpol got boring real fast, especially since tpol's character portrayed dullness incorporated! She was no Spock! By season 2 the continuing threat of the Suliban in every episode was also getting to be a real bore! Season's 3 and the Xindi was even more of the bore! I watched maybe 6 or 7 episodes until I decided I had enough! I bailed, coming to the conclusion that season 3 is the worst Star Trek season ever. From then on I switched to watching the history channel even though I don't remember what show was on at the time! I thought the show was cancelled soon after! To this day I haven't even seen season 4, nor was even aware there was a season 4!

As much of a fan of Quantum Leap as I am, the Star Trek franchise has me enthralled. I believe that as a fan, I would watch almost anything they put out under the name.
Enterprise was different. I think more of an experiment.
Scott Bakula didn't do the show justice. When he asked for creative control, he should have been given the boot right there.
Enterprise was a interesting chapter in the Star Trek history, but definitely not the best. I think that the "sex factor" has been in every series to date and it is there to provide eye candy around an already interesting story line-and they definitely pushed that envelope with Blalock's nudity. But the Enterprise show wasn't entirely carried out well. The much debated music intro wasn't entirely bad, albeit different.
I think the show stood on it's own merits, and earns a place in the Star Trek Universe. But it wasn't the best series to date.

I'm a big Star Trek fan but I never got into Deep Space Nine and Star Trek Enterprise. The problem with Deep is that it's not the Star Trek originated with the story of exploration. The problem with Enterprise is that the concept of going back ward to time before Capt Kirk was too far fetched and not interesting. I think most people like watching Star Trek because of the unique encounters with aliens and the futuristic things. That's why Enterprise just didn't do it for me cuz they were showing something that we already knew existed nothing like something newer. You know what I mean? I love the Voyager, Next Generation and of course the Oringinal with Spock and Kirk. Good question.

Star Trek Enterprise was on one season longer than the original series. When Star Trek in any of its incarnations is good, its very good Sci Fi. If you binge watch only the very best episodes of this series I think you will find it as good as any of the other shows. It took Star Trek Next Generation two seasons to "find its legs". This show never got a chance. What I remember is that after 9/11 in 2001 it seemed like the United States was drifting into a major war. Even as a life long Star Trek fan the show was just overshadowed by current events.

I'm an avid Trek fan but I couldn't get into Enterprise, perhaps it was too soon after Voyager had finished.
From the few I've seen of the series it did seem to get better as the series progressed but I just didn't like the idea of it being set in the past of the future as it was sure to get slammed by continuity etc etc.

No it was not! As in any show there were really naff episodes but you take the good with the bad. I loved it and am enjoying watching it again in the afternoons on Sky. Scott Bakula wasn't the right bloke for the job and that was the biggest stumbling block with the series. I was a young girl when Star Trek first aired and it blew my mind and I still love it. I've heard that they are making another movie but casting Matt Damon as Kirk - no no no! He definitely wont do at all!

No,actually its cancellation had absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the show. The audience simply needed a break from the franchise, it's too bad that the critically acclaimed Enterprise had to be the one. If Enterprise had come before Voyager, it would have been remembered as fondly as DS9.

In a word, yes....lol
A tired, spiritless re-hash of the original concept, a waste of some perfectly good actors and, quite possibly, the most vomit-inducingly, awful; sickly-sweet, faux-emotional theme song I've ever heard.....
