Im a hardcore lakers fan and ive seen every single game they played and trust me they are so banged up right now from Injuries, I dont know if people realize it , it started kicking in for them when they were 15 games over the 500 mark and it started going downhill for them untill kobe started to takeover and averaged 40 + points. Look at the list

Kwame Brown : Sprained left ankle
Sore ankle
Sprained ankle - out 3 to 4 weeks

Shammond Williams: Abdominal strain
Vladimar Radmanovic : Right shoulder separation, out 8 weeks
Sprained right hand
Strained right quad

Kobe Bryant : Sprained right ankle
Knee surgery
Luke Walton : Sprained right ankle

Lamar Odom : Tear in left shoulder
Sprained right knee - out 3-6 weeks

Maurice Evans : Sore right knee

Chris Mihm : Right ankle surgery - out indefinitely
Sprained right ankle
Sore right shoulder

Only healthy players right now are smush, andrew, farmar, sasha, now tell me why kobe shouldnt shoot, thats why they are doing bad in the playoffs,

If I were them Id let the suns win and try to get a lot of rest and get healthy for next year.

Dear AJ,

i am as hardcore of a Laker fan as you. But the truth be told even if they had been healthy all year they don't have what it takes to contend for a championship.

There early start was an anomaly. They played the majority of their games at home and some of their early victories against teams in the West were against teams still trying to find their identity (ie: Denver, Golden State, etc.)

Even with all their injuries - how can a starting lineup with Smush Parker and Kwame Brown be able to contend with the best of the West: Suns: Amare and Nash, Spurs: Duncan and Parker, Dallas: Dirk and Terry. Realistically even if at full strength they wouldn't make it past the first round.

i think they may force a game 6 but beyond that i highly doubt it. The Suns are in Championship mode and they want an easy first round because they ran out of gas in the conference finals versus the mavs last year and so they are aiming for some extra rest.

In retrospect i almost wished they had missed the playoffs which would have put a bigger surge into management. i heard Jim Buss says we can't evaluate this team fairly without them healthy (but realistically this team has chemistry problems and has a lot of players without heart). They have the saddest roster in the league if you took out Kobe, they need new players to help Kobe and to give us a chance to win a few more rings before Kobe retires. We need some real players and sad to say but losing and causing the fans to be angry well hopefully get through to management. They need to bring Jerry West back and take some chances on a trade if that's what it takes to get another big name player into L.A.

Go Laker Nation!

i'm a lakers fan as well... but they won't win this series. in fact i'm surprised they even won one game... as much as i hate to say it the suns are a great team, - they play as a team, and they win as a team. they're tight. the lakers? a collection of ok players plus one superstar. injuries aside, the lakers have no chemistry right now. they should definitely shake things upduring the off season if they want to be able to compete with teams like the suns.

Sure, they have a chance to come back...COME BACK TO MY PLACE AND WATCH THE NEXT ROUND. We could even play NBA live '07' have a tournament and Kobe would be MVP and Kwame Brown could avg. 20 and 10. Kevin Garnett would even be a Laker and avg. 25 a game while Kobe would avg. 20 and lead the league in assists. Smush could bring us Gatorade when needed and Phil Jackson would just sit in the chair and stare like he always does.

nicely the Lakers have lost to communities under .500 this season, so i do no longer see what makes this recreation any distinctive. something is a possibility. & each group does have a raffle to win, different than while you are the Thunder! c[ :

not the lakers will never get another championship as long as kobe is there. lakers need a solid player like chris paul. not someone who will hog the ball when the team's losing. they need someone who will motivate them to do better when there losing so everyone gets involved. the better teamwork the better ur chances of winning. look at the bulls, there the perfect team. everyone distributes in there team. i think chicago will take it this year.

anytime you have a player with Kobes ability there is a chance, but the likelyhood of it happening is extremely slim. im pretty sure phoenix has it in the bag...

no, sadly, the lakers are not going to win this series. suns are too much for them, kobe cannot beat them by himself.
