From my experience, as well as what I've seen in Yahoo Answers, I would say more people struggle with statistics. There are more calculus questions posted here, but they usually get 5-10 answers. The statistics questions usually get 2-3 answers.

You're not going to get very far with statistics if you can't do at least some calculus; pretty much anything in continuous probability will require calculus to do. But both of them can be very hard if you go far enough; which one is harder is definitely a personal thing. For me, statistics was harder (and also less interesting). But I wound up using a fair bit of stats in my doctoral thesis anyway, even though it was mainly in the area of differential geometry...

i think calculus is more difficult.. Especially when it comes to its applications..i have also taken both but i have a different opinion.. :) i think they have a different level of difficulty:
calculus is more "mentally challenging"..
statistics is "tedious"..

Stats is definitely more difficult although it depends (for me) on the teacher but My mind is blocked against stats
