The global warming controversy is fallacy. An Inconvient Truth is very misleading. Check out http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid= (The Great Global Warming Conspiracy) and you will see just how Al Gore with his peudoscientific poppycock has skewed the data.
The earth is in a state of flux and warming and cooling cycles are in effect. One good volcanic eruption far exceeds what we humans are contributing towards global warming.

Yes if everyone realises that this is a SERIOUS issue that could kill. We ARE causing global warming. In our life time the atmosphere would be a LOT hotter. Polar bears have even drowned due to the lack of ice. If we continue, the place where the World Trade memorial is now would be underwater due to the melted ice caps causing rising sea levels. The scientific community has no doubt that Global Warming exists contrary to popular belief.

Treasure our Earth. Global Warming is not just an issue that will go away.

We can help stop Global Warming by using less electricity, recycling stuff etc. You know how to. But will you take action?

Can you stop the Earth going around the sun?
No. Global Warming can't be stopped. It's part of the natural Earth cycle. The only difference this time around is that we have radically increased the CO2 levels. What this will cause remains to be seen as this has never happened before.
One thing is for sure. We will get a chance to see. The changes are underway as we speak.
... a couple of your respondents haven't noticed yet by the sounds of their answers.
I wouldn't worry too much. Neanderthal Man got through it ok. Maybe we will too. After all, mankind could do with some culling.

there are a lot of ways WE can do to stop global warming.
it's a major concern that we human beings should not take for granted. As of now, we are already suffering because of it. And by the near future small island will vanish because the ice at North Pole is starting to melt.

everybody around the world must help by following the 3R's which is: reuse, reduce and recycle.. for example the plastics we should not burn it and as much as possible minimizing it's usage.

also, hairsprays can destroy the green house as much as possible one must not use it, instead we can use gel.

hand in hand we can prevent global warming.. we must cooperate..

No, nor are we causing it...Mars is undergoing the same issue, with a shrinking southern polar ice cap...and besides, don't you think that compared to the sun, people have a rather limited influence over the weather?

These cycles have been happening since long before the dinosaurs died. There just wasn't anyone around to try to take political advantage of the situation.

No, why dont you worry about things that matter the most, like the war or real life problems. Global warming wont be a big issue 1000 years from now, its really not a big deal!

Global warming is not a farce. Its something serious, catastrophic and is already happening out there. We can definitely minimize its effects if not prevent it if everyone opens their eyes to the fact and make small personal changes that benefit the environment.

No, but we can prepare for it to happen in the future. We could help all the animals that are going to be extinct by doing artificial selection and other stuff.

I wanted to answer something scientific and optimistic, but several of your replies disheartened me.

No, we can't. The human race is doomed because of stupidity.
