Why do they feel that this statement, "because I hate Bush", is credible as support for any garbage that they spew out of thier mouths? I'm not interested in any name calling. If that's all your going to do then just don't respond. I honestly feel that liberalism is a mental disorder and not a character flaw. But if all you are going to do is rant and call myself or anyone who answers this question names then I don't want to hear from you. If you have a legitimate reply to the question then by all means express it.

I guess my question stems from what seems to be you getting your facts from smear websites and sources with a clear agenda (like Rosie O'Donnell) and not credible sources and it seems you blindly accept these "facts" as truth without taking the time to check the "facts". Of course my source for all things liberal is Y! Answers and I know I'm generalizing.

Just look at some of the answers you have given me. UriK for example claims our founding fathers to be liberal. Uri have you ever read a real history book? Which founding father? I might could agree with Jefferson but that's about it. Most of the founding fathers envisioned a country where individuals could determine their own destinies through hard work, sacrafice, and responsibility. Not the government taking care of them or doing everything for them. Also they envisioned a united people "One nation under God". To me it seems liberals want to divide us into neat little catagories to make us more managible.

Frank and JohnnyL you made some good comments but really didn't address the real issue. Princess I loved your comments and they're easy to verify by simply looking at say Hillary's voting record and cross refrencing it with any statements she has made regarding such issues.

Why do some cons insist on putting words in my mouth. I have more then one occasion said I don't hate Bush because I don't know him personally. To hate someone I would have to know them personally. I do say I don't agree with his policies!! There is a difference. Between hate and disagree. Just as there is a difference between agreeing and worshiping!! NO, I am more then capable of thinking for myself that's why I can see errors in both parties.
Any one who can see the flaws in their own party system is able to think for themselves.

Let me get this right. You are saying you do not want a rant or name calling - but then progress to call liberalism a mental disorder and claim they cannot think and and that garbage is spewed from thier mouths.
Leave this sort of abuse to Hannity and Coulter - with a little effort you can rise above it. You'll find that respecting other people will lead to a lot more discussion, an opportunity for you to learn what drives your opponents and an opportunity for you to teach them something.

*LMAO * Thanks for the laugher, you just made my day. Do you have a clue how downright ridiculous it sounds, when somebody is telling me, that he is not interested in any name calling by name calling himself ?

EVERBODY , on here has the legitimate to reply ! LMAO , get it ? YAHOO answers is NOT a NAZI STATE , it is a platform for EVERYBODY to have fun and entertainment and sharing opinions.

So my suggestion : try it again later !

EDIT : okay
Why can't Conservatives think for themselves? Maybe that's the wrong question. Can Conservatives think at all?
So what do you think when you get to read this : I honestly feel that conservative thinking is a mental disorder and not a character flaw.

All you did, was making inflammatory statements, there was no real question behind. You actually were hoping you get some insulting answers , just to see yourself affirmed.

I am fully capable of thought, just as you are. You're not mentally or morally superior to anyone based on something as petty as political alignment.

EDIT: This is a test right? Satire?

"I'm not interested in any name calling."

Included with:
"Can Liberals think at all?"
and
"Liberalism is a mental disorder."

If this is indeed irony, its awesome. If its a sincere question, I guess I'll respond simply: that liberals justify their beliefs with the idea that anything they do is ok because they hate Bush is patently false. There really isn't anything else to say; you've asked the wrong question.

It is Liberals who do think - it is Liberal thinking that has brought all the good changes.

Pentions, the National health, public housing, womens votes, etc....

It is the right and left which hold us back - it is the right and left whos doctrines have lead to millions being killed.

Germany - 1938 > 1945, Japan 1936 > 1946, Russia 1917 > 1986 etc..

The mindless followers of the left and right have so much to answer for. Well I suppose it is the very right wing newspapers peddling such simple and easy solutions to complex and human questions.

Well, you might get better responses by not saying that liberals can't think for themselves(which a lot of them do), and not saying that liberalism is a mental disorder. I don't know, call me wrong, but that might be a good start.

I agree, I think much more should be discussed and the name calling should cease on both sides.

I dislike the liberals of which you speak as well, but that said not all of us are like that. I prefer giving credible evidence why i dislike a particular policy or politician. I dunno exactly what you want here, but if you feel that liberalism is so evil than you should examine what was thought of many of our founding fathers and most of the greatest thinkers of all time. Most would be at the time considered liberals and if progress is to be made that sort of thought is necessary.

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.

It's not because we hate Bush. It's that we have logical reasons for hating Bush. He ignored the terrorism threat. Then he took us to war against a nation which had nothing to do with 9/11. He has destroyed our reputation all across the world. He claims to be fiscally conservative, yet has spent more than any president. He has eased pollution standards. He has screwed up our educational system. Refuses to allow increases in minimum wage. Tried to screw up social security. He has spied on innocent Americans, set up secret prisons, allowed torture, and taken away human rights. And he has divided American as no other president has ever done. Oh....and his energy policy is one of "keep wasting energy and let us destroy more of our environment to get more."

Conservatives are fond of suggesting that liberals don't understand what they say, that they just don't get it. The conservatives are right.

Here are some examples.

Liberals support welfare and education proposals to aid children, yet they sanction the murder of children by supporting the practice of abortion. Isn't this contradictory?

How can liberals claim to favor the rights of children, when they champion the rights of criminals, such as convicted child molesters? How can liberals claim empathy for victims when they defend the rights of criminals?

How can liberals support federal funding for AIDS research and treatment, while promoting the spread of AIDS by sanctioning sexual behavior that leads to AIDS? In defending gay rights, liberals sanction homosexual sex; they sanction teenage sex by advocating the distribution of condoms in schools; they sanction drug abuse by promoting needle exchange programs for drug users. How can liberals say they want to stop the spread of AIDS while they sanction practices that lead to it?

How can liberals claim to be supporters of labor when they support environmental restrictions that limit development and eliminate jobs?

How can liberals claim to support the expansion of the economy when they favor government regulations that limit entrepreneurship and when they tax profitable investments?

How can liberals claim to help citizens achieve the American dream when they punish financial success through the progressive income tax?

How can liberals claim to be helping people in need when they support social welfare programs that make people dependent on the government and limit their initiative?

How can liberals claim to be for equality of opportunity, when they promote racial, ethnic, and sexual favoritism by supporting affirmative action?

To conservatives, liberals seem either immoral, perverse, misguided, irrational, or just plain dumb. Yet, from the perspective of the liberal worldview, what seems contradictory or immoral or stupid to conservatives seems to liberals to be natural, rational, and, above all, moral.
