Possibly, its still too soon to tell.

I don't know why everyone keeps complaining about Fleury. Had you actually watched the games, you would have seen him performing excellently. The problem was the offense kept giving up the puck and the D could never seem to get it back or cover the shooting lanes.

With October comes new hope. There are 30 teams in the playoffs at that point. By January we'll have an idea. I doubt this team will get to the finals next year even. Unless of course they make a few changes including getting a stronger defensive presence. Gonchar is not a #1 defenseman. They need a guy like Pronger or Lidstrom. I'd go after Beauchemin in Anaheim. He's a guy who would be #1 on many teams.

I think their chances are 30% even with someone else in net. They are in a tough division and conference that will probably get stronger next year. Teams that had a weak season like the Flyers, Hurricanes and Maple Leafs will probably dump some of their current players and go on the free agency market. The Pens have players like Recchi, Roberts and Thibault who need to consider moving on into the press box or sitting at home collecting their pensions. Also, Sid the Kid will garner more attention next season and so should Staal and Malkin.

It's way too early to be able to answer this knowledgeably, but as a long time Pens fan...I have to honestly say probably not next year. The team still has too many holes at the moment to even consider it. If Shero can come up with a sniper for Sid's wing, at least 2 quality D-men and a faceoff man...plus MAF improves his game and none of the kids suffer a dropoff in production, then maybe I'll change my mind.

pink Wings. In 5. They beat Pittsburgh very last 3 hundred and sixty 5 days at the same time as Marion Hossa develop into with the Penguins. Now he's with the pink Wings, for the express purpose of prevailing a Cup. The Wings are superior than very last 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, and the Penguins are weaker.

The Pens have an excellent shot at a Cup next year. Assuming they continue with the Fleury experiment, that will be your x-factor.

That's all next year, though. We still have 2 1/2 rounds of dandy matchups to enjoy THIS year.

If they splurged for a hot goalie they would have a good chance. But the type of team they are, they earned just enough experience to make it to round 2 next year, but not much further. They are a couple of years away from a good chance.

Two years maybe. They are sooo young and lack the experience...we saw that in the series with Ottawa! The Pens are awesome, can't wait to see what they do in the future!

They need a goaltender. Fluery doesn't want to step up and thibault is another year older. Giguere would be the best out there this free agency, but since i am a yotes fan i am reserving his duties for us.

Just for fun, danny briere would be fun to see on that team. His still pretty young and agile that he would fit with them. But hes to expensive for the team.
