Just curious. An aquaintence of mine has a little boy by that name but I had always assumed it was "Christian". We received a birthday invitation and I see that it's actually spelled with a K.
I've never seen that before. Is it common? New trend?

Yes, are they Slavic? It’s more of a Slavic name if spelled that way.

It's def a version of Christian, just like I've seen Chris spelled Kris for boys. The example that comes to mind at the moment is that the guy from the country band Sugarland is named Kristian. It's all just personal preference, but yes, it is somewhat 'common'.

Actually it's been done the way for a while. Back in 1988 when I was in 8th Grade I had a friend with the same name and he also spelled it with a K, but i haven't seen it since. These days everyone is also trying to make things different and unusual.

I always new that a girl or a boy could use this name. But i thought the girls were spelled with a K and the boys were spelled with a C. But it is a popular name.

Yes but I always thought that spelling was for a girl's name. Then again, I always thought that Kym was for a guy and Kim was for a girl. Turns out they're interchangable. Shows what I know.

Yep, either way is pretty popular. Although, Kristian is usually for a girl (but not always).
