you will find most pepole will say they will keep the money and say nothing . I may be one of the few pepole that would give it back. cuz i have worked at wal-mart and any money the the cashier is short they have to pay back to wal-mart..... and you have to think what if that person has kids and they don't make much money. so if you keep it, then you are taking money away from those kids.

Most of the time you are not hurting Walmart's,you are hurting the girl, cashiers have to balance out at the end of their turn and if they don't,they will be suspected as if they stole the money themselves,I have seen people and these are not poor people that will consume food inside the store and won't pay for it,their excuse is that Walmarts is filthy rich, what we don't realize is that Walmart's will get their money one way or another, and it usually from the innocent person that has to pay a higher price for the goods

I can't believe all the "keep it"answers and the one who says "what is $10 to Walmart". What about the poor cashier who comes up $10 short and is in trouble. Also, even for those of you who don't believe that God is watching, there still is "Karma" and "What goes around comes around".

I'd give it back. It had already happened to me a few times and only once did I keep quiet because I was a bit broke and I really needed extra cash. I just went on shopping at that particular store as a sort of payback when my financial status improved.

No, be honest.
Don't Steal.
Cause you know that you did something wrong, God knows that you did something wrong.
So to clear your conscience before it gets to you later, go to Wal-Mart and tell them you owe them $10. And give them $10 and explain why.
It will be best that you be honest.

You have $20.00 coming back to you and the lady only gives you $10.00 would you walk away and say nothing? or would you say. (WHERE IS MY OTHER $10.00?!!)
there is your answer ( do to others as you would want them to do to you.)

I don't shop at Wal-Mart. But, if it happened anywhere else I would tell her, because I'm trying to be honest and teach my kids honesty.

I give it back because it is the shop assistant who has to pay back the money and Wal-mart aren't famous for their generous salaries.

True life story: You know those new self checkouts at walmart? I was using one and i wanted cash back from my debit card. I asked for 20 bucks back and it gave me a hundred dollar bill! So I leave the store wondering if they took 100 out of my account. I call and check and they didn't so i walked off into the sunset...
moral of this story is: yes, yes i would keep it
PS I've worked as a cashier, and you DO NOT lose your job over $10. That's what the cameras over the registers are for. So, no she would not lose her job!!!
