the original by Stanley Kubrik (im not sure how to spell his last name) The one that Mr. King hated 4 times. The new one followed the book better. Steven Weber can't act. Jack Nicholson was much much better at portraying Jack Torrence.

at least 7 times in its entirety. simplicity is the scariest in horror flims, the true depravation of the mind. these gorefest movies out now are all well and good but u cant replace a classic like the SHINING.
A+.
the remake is an abomination.

Which one? The original with Nicholson or the crappy remake? The original I have seen too many times to count. Nicholson is a god amongst men and he always seems to creep me out in that version even though I have seen it alot.

I've seen the Original version- 17 times, & the remake- 5.7 times thus far (fell asleep near the end of that last one :) ). I thought the Original was scarier.
