Make sure the water pump is working. It is driven by a belt. Make sure the belt is in good condition. Pull the radiator cap off when it is cool and see if there are "scaly" deposits in the radiator or on the cap. If there are no leaks, the only other thing is the thermostat is bad or of the wrong temp. range. My first guess however would be a bad water pump. Do NOT let the engine overheat. The head will warp and that will be the end of your engine. Have it checked before you drive it again. Good luck

I would check the thermostat to make sure it was installed correctly. It could also be that maybe you got a faulty thermostat. Other thing might be to try the water pump. Also, check the radiator and any hoses coming off of it for leaks.

All of the above answers are good. But there is one thing that I didn't see mentioned except for checking for leaks. Of course if you check for leaks, you'll get closer to solving the mystery. Fortunately, it'll be less than $20 to replace it. Ready for this? Buy a new radiator cap. :) hehe. Sometimes, when everything else seems to be working fine, the obvious gets overlooked. My radiator cap was not holding pressure as well as it use to which caused my temp to rise considerably during normal driving and hot weather conditions. After I replaced the radiator cap, everything got back to being normal again. ;) See if that works!

those honda car last quit a while if you take care of it. doing your proper oil change and tune-up etc. if you had a mechanic recharge your a/c and a week down the road the engine is making a racking noise then it's probably not your a/c it's something else. If you just got your a/c recharge and it's now blowing hot air you've gotta bad a/c compressor. there are some used a/c compressor for that vehicle running at $79.99 with $19.99 s/h. your car wont start because you may have a bad starter.

when they installed the new thermostat, did they bleed the air out of the coolant system? Is your cooling fan cycling, and does your secondary fan come on when you turn the A/C on...It might be running hot, due to faulty thermostat, cold spots in radiator, cooling fans not cycling, air in cooling system, bad fan relay or temp. sending unit bad or unplugged, or low in coolant, or water pump not circulating coolant...Just how many times have you ran it hot, and when you are going down the road, does temp guage go back down, or it is hot all the time..Check your oil, you might have already blown a head gasket...if oil looks milky, h/gsk blown, and bottom end damage...

1 Check fluid
2 Theromstat
3 Make sure radiator fan is coming on
4 If car is losing fluid every time you drive than its the water pump usually you will notice after you've been driving for a while and stop at a light and the temp starts to raise

hi,,, there are two things i would check. one, make sure the fans at the radiator are working properly. next, i would visual check the flow of the coolant at the cap. this cars are known to have water pumps that dont last over 100k miles.
