I've had this reaccuring dream for years. I'm swimming in the ocean, which I love to do, and suddenly the sand rises and makes like a sand mountain. Now I'm trapped in the ocean and when I try to climb this sand mountain, the sand falls away and I slip back into the water. My dream is mostly trying to get out of the water but I'm trapped, sometimes theirs dangers in the water like sharks and stuff. I have no fear of sharks but in this dream I'm trying to escape from it but cant. Sometimes the shark is about to attack or I'm about to drown, then the dream ends. What's really strange is the few times I escape the water, I'm lured back to it like a magnet or a moth to a flame. I end up back where I don't want to be. What do you think this means?

I can't say that I KNOW what your dream means, but I can try and interpret it for you. It might help and it might not, but it's worth a shot.

-Water is definatly your state of mind. Being in the ocean (which you love) could be like your resting state. Your peace.
-The sand could represent the problems that you face daily. Your stress, the things that you can't control. They trap you down, and you can't escape them. (The Sand rising making a sand mountain.)
- You try to avoid the stresses in your life, but you can't. So you take on your problems head on. (Hence, you climbing the sand mountain. )
-Once you take on your daily problems you can then slip back into your peaceful state of mind. (You going back into the water).
- However there is something deep inside your mind that has yet to be resolved, and it is constantly trying to bring itself around. Something you are desperatly trying to avoid. (Hence the dangers in the water).
-The more you avoid it, the more dangerous the obsticals become. (being attacked, or drowning)
-Because of this, the ocean is no longer your reverie. (Which could explain why you are constantly trying to get out of the water.)
-Escaping the water could mean that you have either delt with your underlying problems (momentarily), or you have just decided you won't try to figure them out.
-Being lured back into the water could mean that you are so tired of fighting that you just want to relax and surrender to your thoughts and emotions. Makeing the ocean become your haven once more.

Like I said. This may not be very accurate at all for your life, but hopefully it helps you.

Water, floods, oceans usually means something is overwhelming you. The steep sand mountain you are trying to climb confirms this that anytime you try to escape, you're overwhelmed again. If you do escape you described being drawn back to it. It could be anything that is a major challenge in your life. Perhaps you are falling in love and know the person is a bad choose, or perhaps school is over your capabilities, etc. it may be a job.

I really don't like to tell this to you. You have a dream, that is the meaning of climbing the mountain sand but you can't. But your still stuck in your dreams because you want it and you enjoy it.

Ocean
To see an ocean in your dream, represents the state of your emotions and feelings. It is indicative of some spiritual refreshment, tranquility and renewal.

Whe the sand rises it sounds like maybe your emotionaly unstable at the moment.

Dreams come from your brain. Your subconcious brain is showing your concious brain what it needs to see. Your brain knows itself, and knows how it will respond to the dream, so however you interpret it is correct. Nobody else can tell you what it means. There's no way anybody can know. I can make something up and it'll be just as valid as anybody elses interpretation, which would amount to nothing short of a metaphorical interpretation (i.e. "You feel trapped").

No two attempts to interpret your dream will be the same, further proving that there's no accuracy in dream interpretations.

All dreams are nothing more than a reflection of conscious thought. Try to figure out what, in reality, is bugging you that has a meaning similar to that of your dream. You may just be able to put that old dream to rest for good!

I think this indicates you have a feeling of not being in control of some part of your life and it scares you. You keep repeating the same choice that gets you back into feeling fearful and out of control of your situation. Ask yourself what is the most out of control part of your life. Can you do something to gain more control of it? Maybe there is someone who can help you with this situation. If not, can you acknowledge and accept your fears?

One question...are you holding your breath under the water? I'm asking because I used to have dreams where I was trapped under water and I would wake up literally holding my breath. Anyways, if you're doing this you should be checked for sleep apnea. (I didn't have it thank God) but the doctors were concerned that I might. ~Sorry I don't have an interpretation but I wanted to mention that anyway.

Dreams especially reoccuring dreams can be caused by unpleasant or traumatic events. over come them first and remember that dreams usually do not mean a hill of beans or in your case a hill of sand.

I don't know. I think you should read back what you have written. The answers, I think, are self evident. Forgive me but, you made me crack up reading this lol. I used to dream about steep hills I couldn't climb and everybody else could.
