Where do I go?
What should I expect when I order one?
Does it take time when I order one? or do they come out instantly when I go to a shop?
What kind of store sells those things?
btw, approx how much does it cost? Are they expensive?

What I'm really looking for is a flat and full covered GOLDEN colored plastic (hard) that is light and is able to cut through easily with a pair of sissors and can glue (with glue-gun or permanent glue) to a hair clip. Not large in area, but the size of your hand should be enough...

HELP
thanks.

The kind of plastic you want is called "bangles" and they can be found in the bead section of your craft store, such as Michaels crafts. You can also find small plastic squares that can easily be cut into whatever shape you need. You might want to consider the gold origami paper, which can be glued onto a thin plastic or cardboard sheet for the work you want.

Shop around in the craft section of WalMart, there are a lot of wonderful things there. The prices you find will be mostly between $5 - $10 per package of 5 or so 5 inch sheets.

When I needed plastic like I think you want I went to an office supply store and bought plastic pages like are used to put together a term paper or make a folder for a report. They come in lots of colors and are easy to cut and pretty inexpensive.

If you need something more flexible, look at the plastic wrap they use to cover gift baskets. For this, you may need to go to a place that sells types of wrapping paper. They also come in colors.

Or, you could try a florist. They may have scraps that they will give you free.

I hope this helps you with your project. It sounds interesting. I'd love to see what you are making.

Hi:

Here in Kansas City, there used to be a store called Fantastic Plastics and they had plexiglass for a lot of applications. I don't think it can really be cut with scissors, but depending on its thickness, you could cut it probably a small handsaw or other things, like dremels or scrollsaws. It is pretty easy to bend when it is heated. Depending on the size, it is easily lightweight enough for a hair adornment. Hope this helps.

Hmm..... I'm not sure if the colors in my wardrobe have anything to do with my religion. My clothes are fairly colorful - but it depends on the season. In the winter I wear lots of greys, blacks, off whites, and salmony pinks. In the spring and summer I wear lots of bright colors - white, yellow, pink, baby blue, and green, and yellow lots of yellow. In the fall I wear browns and more earth tones. It has more to do with the fact that I feel like dressing like it feels outside. I am Wiccan which always gets the rap of being a nature religion, but I have always dressed like this. Maybe there is a connection. And my clothes are very mainstream. I wear clothing from Anthropologie, JCrew, Banana Republic and then little offbeat specialty stores. Sweaters, Corduroy, in the fall and winter, linen and cotton dresses in the spring and summer. I really like clothes. I wear plenty of jeans paired with a mildly offensive tee shirt and a pair of chucks too and I'm certainly no walking fashion ad. I just enjoy clothes (and shoes).

Try to Google Friendly Plastic. That was out a few years ago at A C Moore and Michael's and you could cut it, bake, it (or not) and it's exactly what you're looking for. You make jewelry out of it.

Hard yet easily cut with scissors :-?

My only thought would be to check a good model-hobby store... they should have flat, styrene-plastic in sheets (6"x10") in various thicknesses ($5 USD for two sheets).

Sadly, it is usually WHITE in color... but can easily be spray-painted... or covered with "Metal-Foil" (in gold, bronze, brass, copper, silver, or aluminium

Not sure if this is sufficient... but Good Luck.
