1. Tenet said 9/12, the day after, bush and his administration wanted to go to war in Iraq even AFTER they were told Iraq had nothing to do with the war.
2. Osama bin Laden, the actual person responsible, was at Tora Bora, but bush REFUSED to go after him. I repeat, REFUSED.
3. Al-Queda is in Afghanistan. Remember them? They were responsible for 9/11? Why didn't bush finish the job? Because he was too worried about finishing something for his daddy, not about terrorism.
4. It has been proven over and over again there were no terrorists in Iraq because Saddam hated bin Laden and Al-Queda. After bush killed Saddam, whom this government placed in leadership and sold weapons to him in the first place, terrorists groups have started to go to help fractions in Iraq.
Seems to me you guys support terrorism more than you allege, huh?

Funny conservatives took everything Tenet says as law, until he spoke against bush. Seems like you pick and choose your Republicans only when they tell you something you like, huh?
By the way, you are proving Tenet's book wrong with another book based on opinion. Nice.

Correct. In fact, Bush Jr wanted to invade Iraq as soon as he became president, even before 911.
Paul O'Neill was Bush's Treasury Secretary for two years. O'Neill told 60 Minutes, that the Bush administration began planning a U.S. invasion of Iraq within days after Bush took office. He said, "From the very beginning, there was a conviction that Saddam Hussein was a bad person and that he needed to go," "For me, the notion of pre-emption, that the U.S. has the unilateral right to do whatever we decide to do, is a really huge leap."
O'Neill was the main source for "The Price of Loyalty: George W. Bush, the White House, and the Education of Paul O'Neill," by former Wall Street Journal reporter Ron Suskind. Suskind cited a Pentagon document titled "Foreign Suitors For Iraqi Oilfield Contracts," which, he said, outlines areas of oil exploration. "It talks about contractors around the world from 30, 40 countries and which ones have what intentions on oil in Iraq."
O'Neill also said in the book that President Bush "was like a blind man in a roomful of deaf people" during Cabinet meetings. One-on-one meetings were no different, O'Neill told the network. Describing his first such meeting with Bush, O'Neill said, "I went in with a long list of things to talk about and, I thought, to engage [him] on. ... I was surprised it turned out me talking and the president just listening. It was mostly a monologue."

We don't live in a Utopia.
Many people dropped the ball. Now that the US is in Iraq the Question comes down to what does it take to have a stable Iraq. A stable Iraq is a place where the locals are in a better place than when we entered & they feel that it is worth investing in their country. If the locals don't see a future for the country they will not invest in it.
We may have gone into Iraq for noble reasons, but we have to stay in for at least the OIL. If there is a civil war the group that doesn't have control of the oil will ignite it. This will be bad both for the 1st worlds' economy & the environment of the planet.
Start looking at the World as it is not as what you wish it was!

1) Iraq had nothing to do with what war?
2) The US army was at Tora Bora.. and laid seige to it. That's "going after them." Lie #1.
3) The Taliban was removed from control in Afghanistan. Bin Laden is in hiding. Finished? No, but a major improvement.
4) Actually, it's been proven that there WERE terrorist groups operating in Iraq AND that Saddam funded terrorist groups. Al Qaeda is not the only terrorist organization in the world.. and they're not the only one that likes to target Americans. Lie #2.
So.. your arguments amount to lies and pointless babble.

1. Of coarse they wanted to go to war. Saddam had been doing nothing but violating security council resolutions ever since we let him stay in office in 91 not to mention his old betrayal of the US. Youre forgetting that he used to be our boy, we backed him just because he was an enemy of our enemy until we learned what a murderous scumbag he was. Our govt was just in holding a grudge against him as was the millions of Iraqis that wanted him brought to justice.
2. The military has done everything they could to find Bin Ladin. Lets not forget that it was Clinton that couldve caught him before 9/11 ever came about and not cost 5000+ people their lives.
3. Al-Queda is everywhere genius. If you reread Bushs old speeches on the war on terror youll see that it specifically includes targetting nations that sponsor terror including nations like Iraq, Iran, and Syria. If Syria wouldve defied the UN and the US as much as Iraq did and we had a similiar history with them , guess what? We woulda went there!
4. It has been proven saddam has funded Hamas and suicide bombers in Israel. The idea that Iraq couldnt possibly be a target in the war on terror because they werent hosting a very specific brand of terrorism is ludicrous and defies all logic.
I think the only people that indirectly support terror here in the US are the idiot libs we have in congress that are constantly trying to undermine our military efforts and making outrageous statements calling our troops nazis, stupid, demanding gitmo be closed, trying to confer citixen rights to illlegal combatants, and even meeting with allies of our enemies in Syria. Al Queda and others can rest well at night knowing that people like John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid are working hard for them everyday! (and they didnt even have to send a campaign contribution or cast a single vote)

Who's truth? Yours?
Beware of taking the word of authors of new books. Tenet's memories are different than others memories. He wrote he met with a White House official on a day that he was out of the country the whole week. Not off to a good start for him.
Osama is in Afghanistan & the reasons for wars were not the same.
Remember the soldiers that are in Afghanistan - they are catching al-queda
Who proved no terrorist? The 3,300 US soldiers, the killed British soldiers or the innocent Iraqis car bombed in markets.
Saddam was hanged by his peoples' courts. The goverment was duly elected in a democratic election.
Seems you guys can't read or understand news even liberal news told these real truths.

For me, Yahoo Answers is helpful. I see myself going on it to help myself and others. If I'm too busy with life and not having time for Yahoo! Since everyone has pretty much nailed all of your other points, let me hit the one they missed. When exactly did BUSH kill Saddam. I remember the Iraqi people hanging his sorry a**, but I don't remember what part Bush played in that.
Do yourself a big favor: You can hate President Bush all that you want, but quit letting that hatred cloud your judgment, it just makes you look like an idiot.
