Cheers was a more mainstream show, and appealed to a larger audience, but I thought the writing on Frasier was better at times. The answer also depends upon whether you are talking about Cheers before or after the departure of the Diane Character, who was more annoying than fingernails on a chalkboard a great deal of the time. Then there is the question of whether you are talking about when Coach was still alive. I could go on for days. My vote, despite the sardonic wit of Frasier, would have to go for Cheers as best overall.
