1) what State do you live in? I like to know which places say words differently. I am from Pa.
2)Do you say, Candy cotton or cotton candy? -I say candy cotton and my kids laugh at me!
3)Do you say pop or soda? I used to say pop but somehow switched to saying soda. A friend I knew from NY. would always laugh at me. He said pop is what he called his dad.
4)Do you say Hoagie or sub? I say hoagie
5)Is it Roast beef or beef roast? I say beef roast.

3. Soda, although I am more likely to say cola or soft drink.

4. It depends on the context. In restaurants it is usually called a sub or a submarine sandwich, but in schools, it is referred to as a hoagie. Or we may call a shorter sub a hoagie.

5. Also depends on context. A beef roast is what you put in the oven, whereas when it is served or is on a sandwich, it is roast beef.

We have sub shops and hoagie shops, depends on where I am eating I guess.
Same with beef roast/roast beef, use them both.
