Just because the disc is blank does not mean it will work. Many companies are having issues with the production of good blank discs. You might try four or five before you find one that meets the needs of the PC. You buy 100 of them, maybe 75 will work. Keep trying, you'll find one!
Also make sure its the right kind of disc. Media discs only take media not data. And data discs only take data. Music is different from Media, so watch which is which!
Good Luck!

There could be a pair of issues that are inflicting this. in case you have tried many discs and get no consequences, the 1st subject to do is to purpose a diverse sort or form of clean disc to work out in case you get diverse consequences. it could desire to be that your CD/DVD burner isn't recognizing the disc. in case you get no consequences the subsequent subject to do is restart you laptop and attempt returned. If nevertheless not something you're able to be able to could desire to pass to you laptop producer's internet site and get any updates on your laptop sort's CD/DVD burner. Firmware updates could be confusing, so use that through fact the final subject you do. of course, continuously verify the least confusing subject first and paintings your way as much as the toughest. determine which you do make certain which you're putting the disc in a burner force to boot, you by no ability be responsive to. in case you probably did all of those issues and no consequences, then your burner force would possibly not paintings with that form or sort of disc.

Are you trying to put a data file on a CD?
My burners require that I use CD/RWs and they must be formatted with the software that powers the burner - before putting data files on them. They can be used like floppies on my computer, but cannot be read on another unless I download the "reader" from the software company.

Pay close attension to the type of disk you used before and is the new disk the exact same type? Also CD roms do go bad check to see if it will read a disk that already has something on it.

Dry reinstalling your CD drives software or downloading and installing the most updated firmware for your particular drive. You may have corrupted drivers
