if you can excert enough force to overcome the friction that the wood is applying to the nail then it is possable, but it is highly not probable that you can create that force with your fingers

If its over halfway into the wood it is most likely not possible, but usually you can pull and twist it at the same time and it will come out. Otherwise, use a hammer.

Bend the nail back and forth until the wood is loosened up. Or, you could use a claw hammer with your bare hands.

I live in the country and wonder why anyone would you even ask a question like this? Take a hammer and push it thru to the side where the head of the nail is, and then take the slotted (claw) side and pry it out. otherwise putit in the burn pit and buy a new one.

Put some ice on it. Lowering the nail's temperature will make it shrink. I don't know if will shrink enough for you to pull it out but it might help.
