The 'Shot' definitely makes you gain weight, you get a huge dose of progesterone all at once.
Birth control pills and Ortho-Evra (the patch) might make you gain weight, because they contain estrogen. But it is in tiny amounts and most people don't gain more than 5 lbs. And many people who do gain, end up gaining it in their chest so they don't mind.
Anyway, gaining 5 lbs on the pill is better than 50 in a pregnancy.

yes birth control with inter fear with weight lose. Many times one will gain weight while on birth control. If you are having problems with this and or water weight gain you should discuss this with your doctor and possibly try other methods of control.

birth control makes you gain weight. Not too much. Low dose pills are the best bet. Its defifitely not as much weight as pregnancy will put on you.

Birth control can cause you to gain up to 5 lbs when you first start it. The reason bieng is that birth control makes you hungry, so you are likely to eat more during the first month you are on it. That bieng said, DO NOT go off birth control because you are scared of gaining weight. Imagine how much weight you'll gain if you got pregnant...?

I had a hard time losing weight when I was on the shot. Since you don't have a period that causes you to retain fluids

has different affects on different ppl.... some lose weight, some gain weight, some it doesnt affect in that way
but i have heard of more ppl gainin weight than losing it

I gained a ton of weight on the pill. I still say the pudge is better than taking care of a screaming brat.
