Hell no. Then you'd spend the rest of your life dreading that day and time.

Life is precious to us solely because we DON'T know the answer to that question. If we did, I think we'd all collectively lose much of our will to live, especially those of us with 'forecasts' that don't go too far into the future (i.e. dying on the young side).

I think I do know, at least the age I'm going to be when I die. I've known forever. I'll be surprised if I pass that age without dying!

It does not bother me. It's about 6 years from now - I'll be middle aged. Perhaps as it gets closer it will bother me, but it doesn't now. I do hope my death won't be painful, though.

Personally, I don't WANT to get old. I'm not afraid of what comes next. Even if NOTHING comes next - well, I'll be dead, I won't care!

Leaving my pets behind will be hard, but I've already made arrangements for them. I have no children. I have a pretty happy life and only a few regrets.

Anyway, we'll see what happens!

I wouldn't at the moment as I have my whole life ahead of me and I don't want to dwell on the fact that I only have so many years left.

Having said that, I would want to be told that I only had a short time left as their are thing that I would like to do and people I want to meet up with before I die, so I would bring those things forward to the near future instead of putting them off.

If I knew when and how I was going to die then I could decide if 6 years of higher education is worth it.

It would be absolutely awful! You would always be looking to that date, feeling it getting closer and closer with dread. The last few years would be especially difficult. I have five years to live ... I have two years to live ... now one ... now two months ... now two weeks. Agh! Horrible!

The illusion of immortality is a blessing.

Here is a quote from Aeschylus' play on the subject, written some 2,500 years ago (Prometheus was the Titan-god who championed mankind):
Prometheus: I caused mortals to cease foreseeing their doom
Chorus: Of what sort was the cure that you found for this affliction?
Prometheus: I caused hope to dwell within their breasts.

Aeschylus was right, if we foresee our doom, then there is no room left for hope. And hope sustains us.

I wouldn't want to know. There are a couple of old sayings about life and death that i like to remember.
1. "Anticipation of death is worse than death itself."
so not thinking about is a better way to live, I heard this from a terminally ill patient.
2. "Nobody promised us tomorrow" so live everyday like its your last, and enjoy your life today

No, because it might alter the way i live my life, thus altering the lessons i am supposed to learn here.
If you do feel like a bit of fun, go to www.deathclock.com
You punch in some info, and are given the day of your death!(apparently!)

no, because i dont think i would do well facing my own mortality. id rather have it be a surprise so i could do stuff with no lingering knowlege of "hey, your having fun now but your gonna die in a year" over my head
