my company has got to pay me $15,000 in retroactive back pay.should i tell my wife or should i keep it to myself?

Hello. If you are truly married, then you SHOULD tell your wife. You are no longer a single man, and consequently you need to die to your own individual persona. Why? Because you became one flesh with one woman to be joined in HOLY matrimony until death do you part. So you should love yourself and your wife enough to TELL her. Then after you tell her, both of you should sit down and discuss what each would like to do. Don't go for the he vs. she deal... but honestly work things out and then go with the plan. A marriage is to be built upon trust, honesty, and L-O-V-E! Do something you both love to do and enjoy it. Just don't let it be something bad alright??

Do you still love your wife and plan on spending the rest of your lives together or are you going to take the $ and run?
Tell her directly or do something special for her or the two of you and when she asks how you were able to afford it be honest but tell her that you wanted to surprise her.
If you have previously agreed that your finances are separate as some couples do, it is completely up to you but I still suggest doing something special and totally unexpected.

You shouldn't even be asking this question. For a relationship to work there needs to be 100% trust and honesty. Tell her. Maybe you don't trust her to be responsible with the money, if so that's a shame. I really think that marriage should be completely open and honest, so do the right thing by your wife. How would you feel if she did the same to you?? Good luck with everything, lucky you getting this money!!!

Well how in the world would you hide that from her? Not much you could buy without her getting suspicious, unless you plan to just hoard the money under your mattress or something. So unless you don't want a wife anymore, tell her.

I think you should tell her!! Keeping things from your wife will end up in her being distrustful of you!! That is never a good thing!! By the way thanks for the 2 pts!! You just got me to level 4 finally!!! Seemed to take forever!!
