If you could not even see BIOS on the screen, either your monitor or your videocard is defective. Test them both in another PC.

Do you get a picture when you first start the computer? or does it just happen when you're using the game?. If there's no video at all then it's either the video card, the motherboard or the monitor. If you have access to another machine plug the monitor into it and if it works than it's either one of the other two, you can do the same thing with the video card, swap it with another one if you can so you can eliminate that etc.

Try unplugging the monitor from the back of your computer. If the screen turns on, then your motherboard probably fried.

If nothing happens, your monitor went.

I've had this happen on games. I'm not sure its what you are experiencing, but the black screen comes on and the game continues to load in the background and after about a minute of blackscreen the game begins to run.
