If the government simply pays a private for-profit enterprise to provide a government service doesn't their profit motive dictate the quality and quantity of service rather than the need and rights of the citizens recipients?

When you elect anti-government people like the GOP to run the government what do you expect them to do but dismantle the government?

I can not think of a single govt. agency that is run efficiently. However, I can think of thousands, if not millions of private companies that are run very efficiently. With better customer service to boot.

Whereas there are some things that have to be run by national govt. like the military, the interstate highway system, etc. a reduction of the breadth of govt. is a good thing.

Gov. Bush privatized jobs in Florida. The workers lost their insurance, pensions and are now paid poverty wages with no job security. We pay the companies more than we were paying the workers. Bush's friends got the contracts without bids. His behavior was anti humanity.

Shareholders become more important than the citizens who receive the service. Good point.

The GOP is anti-government?

It's a political party, no government, no elections, no money to the party.

Don't be stupid.
