Same:

1. DNA is copied during interphase before the mitosis or meiosis part begins.
2. DNA is divided evenly during the process.
3. Both include prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase
4. Both move and manipulate chromosomes using the spindle fibers
5. Both are followed by cytokinesis

Different
1. Mitosis makes two nuclei that are just like the parent nucleus: one 2n nucleus makes two 2n nuclei. Meiosis makes four nuclei with half the original number of chromosomes: one 2n nucleus makes four n nuclei.
2. Mitosis happens in one division. Meiosis requires two divisions: meiosis I and meiosis II.
3. Meiosis I requires that homologous chromosomes synapse to form tetrads and crossover. That never happens in mitosis.
4. Mitosis is part of the cell cycle that makes new body cells (somatic cells). Meiosis makes gametes.

Beyond that we get into little details.

Both mitosis and meiosis are cell division.

Mitosis only divide once two daughter cells. It happened in regular cells (like blood cell, every cell except the sex cell).
Meiosis takes place only in the sex cell- the sperm and egg. It will divide twice and has four daughter cells.
